Vaccine crisis in Andhra Pradesh puts 25 lakh people in direct risk

Y.S Jaganmohan Reddy led Andhra Pradesh government has already made two aspects clear with the vaccination drive that the vaccination for the people between 18-45 age group will have to wait till September to receive the vaccination and the will priority is to give the second dosage of vaccine for the people who have received their first dosage.

As per the latest reports, 53, 58, 712 people in the state have received their first dosage but the data shows only near about 17, 96000 out of them have received the second dosage. At this point of vaccination drive, Andhra Pradesh is one of the larger states with the least amount of vaccine stocks. As per the latest, it is even important to note that from 13 districts near about 24,64,057 people under the age group of 45-60 years have not received their first dosage of vaccine. This also denotes the risk aspect of almost 25 lakhs people contracting the virus with the present situation concerning the shortage of vaccines in the state.

Jaganmohan Reddy led Andhra Pradesh government had earlier said that the state government is capable of carrying out the vaccination drive for the people of the 18-45 age group but then changed their policy and made the second dosage a priority.
