In the elections of the most crucial states, DMK and its allies led by M.K Stalin son of Ex-Chief Minister and DMK strongman M. Karunanidhi won the Tamil Nadu assembly elections by securing155 seats out of 234. In the case of Kerala, CPIM strongman and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan led Left Democratic Front defeated Congress-led United Democratic Front by securing 99 out of 140 seats. In Assam, the state and the national ruling party BJP and their allies marked their second consecutive victory by defeating the grand alliance formed by Congress by having 76 out of 126 seats. In West Bengal, where the National ruling party BJP was expected to perform well and form the government lost to Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress. As per the latest reports published by the Election Commission of India, TMC won 213 out of 294 seats in the seats making Mamata Bannerjee’s hat-trick win in the state.
