Snehalatha, 19, an outsourced employee of the SBI Card and resident of Ashok Nagar area was found murdered. Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) founder Manda Krishna Madiga has alleged that this is a clear case of failure of the police machinery and lack of immediate action by the Circle Inspector concerned.

Speaking to media persons, Mr. Krishna Madiga said, “Strict action is missing from the government’s side with regard to the Dalit victims in Guntur, Gudur, and in Prakasam districts.” After meeting Superintendent of Police B. Sathya Yesu Babu, the MRPS leader alleged that the One Town CI had taken the complaint of Snehalatha’s mother lightly, which led to the murder.

“Punishing the culprits alone is not the solution to prevent such atrocities. A mechanism to stop such cases needs to be devised,” the MRPS leader said.

Snehalatha’s burnt body was found by the police on Wednesday. The police has arrested two men, one of whom was allegedly the victim’s love interest.

With rising atrocities against Dalits, BCs and Minorities the situation in the state has turned tense.
