After the destruction of the idol of Lord Rama in Ramatheertham in Vizianagaram, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy stepped in and condemned the continuous attacks on the temples in the state of Andhra Pradesh and highlighted the fact that how ignorant people are towards the attacks on temples and how the issue would have been at the forefront of it was a mosque or a church.
On the same day, he promised to visit all the temples attacked in the state. Accordingly, he visited the temple of Ramatheertham on 14th January. Know more about the visit at Chinnajeeyar Swamy visits Ramatheertham! – AP Truth
Chinnajeeyar Swamy on 17th January flagged off his statewide “Chaitanya Yatra” fromVagarur Laxmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Mantralayam, Kurnool District, along with Ahobilam temple seer Ramanuja Jeeyar. He inquired about the recent attack of the seven-headed snake idol with the priests of the temple and the village heads. After that, he convened a meeting with them and highlighted the importance of mutual respect to other religions and the responsibility of every individual in protecting the temples.
Donation of 30 Lakh:-He even requested the temple trustees to complete the reconstruction of the temple in a year and donated Rs.1 lakh towards the development of the temple. On the call of Chinnajeeyar Swamy, the villagers promised to donate Rs.30 lakhs for the reconstruction of the temple.
The fact that the government of Andhra Pradesh under YSRCP announced the construction of the temples that YSRCP claims to be destroyed during the tenure of the TDP without establishing any facts that these attacks happened in the previous government’s tenure, and the Chief Minister himself laying the foundation stone even though no statement was made by the current government regarding the reconstruction of the damaged temples, nor any statement by the ruling party leaders showing concern towards these damaged temples in the last 17 months and this being taken up only after the visit of Chandrababu Naidu to Ramatheertham condemning the attacks on the temples raised many eyebrows.
Moreover, the announcement of the government of reconstruction of the temples did not draw any attention of the people and the visit of the Chinna Jeeyar Swamy motivated the devotees to donate 30 Lakhs only towards the reconstruction of the Mantralayam temple.
