There were reports of YSRCP leaders prioritizing their own birthday celebrations by installing posters and banners in front of India’s former President Late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s statue in Dharmavaram, Andhra Pradesh.
Opposition leader from Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh tweeted about the same on 13 October 2020.
Many Twitter users across the State have tweeted and condemned this publicity incident and corroborated using images. The story was run by the news channel Times Now and has shaken the nation
The YSRCP leaders put up the banner to celebrate Dharmavaram MLA Kethireddy Venkatarami Reddy’s birthday.
This is not the first time when the YSRCP and its leaders have insulted the missile man. On 4 November 2019 the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government has issued a Government Order (GO MS No.78) for renaming the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Pratibha Puraskar as YSR Vidya Puraskar. The awards were initiated by the Former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and were presented to meritorious students of government schools who excel in the SSC (Class 10th) public examinations. Post criticism from opposition parties, netizens, and Abdul Kalam’s admirers the GO was revoked.
Finally, the claim that YSRCP disrespected Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is proven to be TRUE because of innumerable facts that corroborate the story.
